TERMS + CONDITIONS

BEST PRACTICE
All advice will be given to the best of my knowledge and ability. The client is not obliged to follow my advice and I am not liable or responsible for any decisions taken during the process. I will help with light cleaning where necessary but I do not lift heavy goods.


HANDLING OF GOODS
EDIT is covered by Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance. EDIT cannot accept liability for any damage to goods or property.


REMOVAL OF ITEMS
Items removed from your house must be at the client’s discretion and you will accept responsibility at all times for such decisions.


PERSONAL SAFETLY
Prior to taking on a job you, the client, agree to let me know any information about the job or my working environment that might put me at risk or harm or damage to my health.


OUTSIDE SUPPLIERS + SERVICES
On occasion, I may recommend the services, or provide contact details for other service providers to you. I will not accept any responsibility for their performance nor liability for any fees payable for their services or for any loss or damage that they may cause.


HOURS OF WORK
You will be charged on an hourly rate. If the session exceeds the number of hours agreed we will decide whether to extend the session accordingly. Any parking fees incurred in providing the services will be invoiced to the client.


FOOD + DRINK
I will bring my own food and drink if a session goes over lunchtime. Please let me know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions.


CANCELLATION POLICY
Both parties have the right to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. However, in the event of cancellation by the client of less than 48 hours before our scheduled appointment, you will be charged 50% of the amount agreed prior to the appointment.


CONFIDENTIALITY
All work will be undertaken with strict confidentiality and no information will be passed to a third party without your agreement. Before and after pictures may be taken with written consent. All images shall be the property of EDIT and may be used on the website or as a marketing tool.


PAYMENT
All payments must be made within completion of the job. Charges shall be payable by BACS using the bank details as shown on your invoice or cheque. 

 

 

GDPR POLICY

DATA COLLECTED
The initial data that I collect is full name, phone number, home address and email address. I also take photos of works I undertake after getting permission from each client verbally.


WHO HAS ACCESS TO THE DATA
As the owner of the business I am the only one who has access to the data mentioned above.  This data may also be accessed by a third party who would be working with me on a single project.


HOW THE DATA IS HANDLED
When I take a phone call I have a dedicated notebook where I write down a full name, phone number, home address and email address.  Through my website I receive a submission form which has a clients name and email address and I respond by email or phone in relation to their requirements.  At the bottom of every email there is a link to my GDPR Policy. All existing clients as of the 25th of May 2018 have received a PDF copy of my GDPR Policy.


STORAGE OF DATA
I store the data in a business-dedicated notebook. I hold the notebook with me at all time.  Whenever I’m not undertaking business I store the notebook in a locked safe within my premises.  I also hold a name, phone number and home address on my mobile phone which is password protected and the password if only know by myself.

Data is also stored on exchange of emails with clients on a Gmail server.  There is a password on my computer, which is only known by myself.

I have an excel spread sheet which holds existing clients data which includes full name, phone number, home address and email address.  Again my computer is password protected.

For appointments I put clients first name into my diary.


HOW LONG IS THE DATA HELD FOR
All data is held for a maximum of 6 years after EDIT is no longer working with a client.  This data is stored as above. At the end of the 6 years the data held as paperwork with be shredded and any data held on my computer and phone will be deleted.


THIRD PARTY ACCESS TO DATA
If EDIT is involved in a group project all client data which includes full name, phone number, home address and email is shared between the other parties to the group.  To the best of my knowledge the third parties are also GDPR compliant. As I have done my best to check. In order to cover my client’s data prior to sharing I would as for a copy of any third parties GDPR policy.
